I actually haven’t been shiny hunting for a while since I was going so hard I was getting morion sick. I decided to pick it back up today for a few encounters and within 16 encounters my son came out :,,3
It took 3436 encounters (each time a wild Pokemon appears to battle you), and he was the 553rd Growlithe to appear.
I still hope to shiny hunting a female Growlithe like the first one I found, but for now I’m very pleased. We’re off to Kanto!!
