Cramming Code Day 1
It's time to pull on my big girl pants and learn to code TToTT
Staring at the tower of Japanese language learning books on my desk shelf... I'm sorry Self, the audhd hyperfixations are calling for bearblog beautification.
Firstly, thank you very much to Sylvia from A parenthetical departure for her help in guiding me through figuring out why I was getting an error while implementing her code for a Status page.
She also gave me a few links to other resources, one being this mdn website with lots of information about coding! I noticed they have a little Learning section with "Getting Started modules", so I'm going to take this little course and see what I can learn.
It's been more and more apparent to me in the past year how much knowledge I have about something effects my anxiety. I get so anxious and overwhelmed that it's hard to start, and going through the various Bearblog resources on my own with no knowledge was indeed overwhelming. So I'm hoping to at least go into this with the intention to learn the terminology, even if i still have trouble writing code.
I would really like to learn how to code my Kitties page to show a random photo I'll have stored of them. It reminds me a little of the "Pet the Cat" feature that David social has. (I'm necara on there!)
I'd also like to implement different types of dark/light modes, inspired by both Sylvia's blogpage (click the hamburger button in the top right corner of the homepage!!) and Sarah Fossheim's post on accessible themes.
I'd really love to make a blog that easy on the eyes, while still utilizing my favorite color, yellow. I was having some trouble futzing with color matching in color-hex, and I'm still not married to the colors. I want to give off more daffodils/warm glow that the coffee-ish look I've got now.
I'm also very interested in photographing textures to implement as backgrounds like I was thinking of for my nekoweb page with the 'planner cover and background. Ideally I would like to use a photo of my actual desk as the background for the page, but I already find that the website theme I bought isn't mobile friendly and I'm worried how the image background would work with screen readers. I'd really like to make an accessible website that anyone can view! So I should probably read up on how screen readers work to ensure any themes I create work with them... ;w; there's so much that goes into it but I would rather my blog look more bare-bones than be inaccessible to people.
I ALSO REALLY WANT A MUSIC PLAYER ON MY BLOG LOL TToTT I actually made one using a website called Elfsight, but the site seemed a bit sketchy and I removed their widgets from my blog. They actually hosted an "accessibility overlay" filter type thing that I was so happy to find!! ...Only in researching it further, it seems like those are a bit bogus. x{

I only a couple hours left before I have to go to a doctors appointment, so I'll wrap it up here. I'm gonna focus on:
- Memorizing coding terminology
- Learning and implementing accessibility features
- Learning how to make an image randomizer for my Kitties page
