Ava's Question Challenge~
I was looking around Ava's blog pages when I saw their questions challenge entry. It reminds me very much of the old myspace/og facebook/tumblr spirit, so I thought I would give it a try!
1. Why did you make the blog in the first place?
- I initially created this blog after having a hard time figuring out how to interweave a blog into the theme I have for my nekoweb page
. But now I've become so charmed with how people are styling their bearblogs, I've kind of put figuring out my nekoweb site on the backburner... oops~
2. Why did you choose Bearblog?
- I first saw Bearblog through a user on bluesky posting about their new music blog. ( The blog in question is https://whenyougetasecond.bearblog.dev/! I thought the little bear icon was so charming that I looked into it and made an account not long after. I like the premise of it being so easy to use and customizable, even if it sometimes drives me crazy that I have to learn everything!! :,,3
3. Have you blogged on other platforms before?
- Yes. My former fashion blog is https://cattasticks.blogspot.com/. I used to blog with some friends in a group called Black and Yellow Otaku Gamers (BAYOG) but it appears the website has since gone defunct.
I believe I also have some posts still up on Medium, and I have also blogged on tumblr before but not with any real intention. I wrote a little bit for Crunchyrolls old Newsletter! ( I only ever got one piece published and it was a snippet in a big group piece :,3 )
4. Do you write your posts directly in the editor or in another software?
- It's a bit early to call this one but so far I have been doing them on on Bearblog in editor. When I wrote my Blogspot and my Medium posts I recall they were all in their in-site editors, but when I wrote for BAYOG I would write them in Word and then paste them into the text editors. I'm actually hoping to upload all those old articles on here for posterity so I'm glad I have them.
5. When do you feel most inspired to write?
- GREAT QUESTION. I feel most inspired to write after experiencing something I have 'profound' thoughts about. My most recent inspirations were when I read the first manga volume of "ONIMAI: I'm Now Your Sister!" this afternoon, and I wished to write a comparison of it and the content covered in the anime. I'm trying to remember the other few sparks I had recently, but to no avail.
I no longer keep my laptop in my bedroom like I did when I was first blogging, and I'm mainly bed-bound due to my disability, so I will have to find a way to take note of my inspirational sparks so I don't forget them.
6. Do you publish immediately after writing or do you let it simmer a bit as a draft?
- I'm a notorious post and leave it in God's hand-er LMAO
I remember even after editing in Word I would read through my old posts on BAYOG and have to go and edit mistakes and wonky sentence structures. I do not think I will ever change in this regard (EDIT: I'M LITERALLY DOING IT RN HAHAHA)
7. Your favorite post on your blog?
- I guess it has to be my only real, true post on here so far, https://cattasticks.bearblog.dev/rest-in-peace-shiny-hgss-growlithe/. (I'm still grieving)
8. Any future plans for your blog? Maybe a redesign, changing the tag system, etc.?
- I really, REALLY want to design the theme of my blog to look like an email website (portal? client? i don't know web terminology TToTT). Like an inbox page, essentially. I would have the email "folders" be different landing pages on my site, and I would have little widgets in place of where "ads" would be.
I really don't know how I would make that translatable to mobile viewing though, and I've been quoted a lot of money I don't have to get it made, so I will have to see what I can do on my own for now.

Thank you so much Ava for the fun questions! My blog is still fresh so it made me excited to revisit these questions in the future, perhaps in a year or so. Please check out Ava's blog listed at the top of this post, or you can find a link on my Bookmarks page!
Take care, and thanks for reading =w=
